(For linking to when I post circle signups.)
Unless the package weight goes over 13 oz, I ship first class mail both domestic and internationally. Postage is printed through PayPal. Domestic folks get a delivery confirmation/tracking # through PayPal. International folks get a shipping notice through PayPal with your customs #, which functions as a limited tracking #. (It will update until it leaves the US; after that, it depends on your country's postal system and whether they have reciprocal tracking with the US.)
Any package that goes over 13 oz -- in practice, 75 or so decants and/or 8 or more half/full bottles -- has to be sent Priority, not first class. Domestically, I use a small priority flat rate box; internationally, I check which would be cheaper (small flat rate, use-your-own-box, or splitting the shipment into two packages of less than 13 oz and shipping them both first class).
I ship in new bubble mailers with plenty of bubblewrap (recycled if I have it, otherwise new). Unless you tell me not to include them, all packages will include tea in individually foil-wrapped bags and candy in individually wrapped packets.
Unless otherwise specified, the following shipping rates from me take effect for new circles started after 1 Jan 2016:
To the US:
$4 for most packages
$7 for any package including 8 or more half/full bottles (sent priority flat rate)
To Canada *:
$4.50 for most packages
$6.50 for anything 8-13 oz
Variable for anything over 13 oz (must be sent Priority)
To the rest of the world *:
$5.50 for most packages
$7.50 for anything 8-13 oz
Variable for anything over 13 oz (must be sent Priority)
* International folk: To save you money (at least $10 per package), I ship using first-class mail using Large Envelope rates/postage. This does run the risk of running into a post office employee who's a stickler for the rules: technically, Large Envelope shipping is not supposed to be used for anything more than 3/4" in thickness or anything with a variance in thickness more than 1/4". There is a chance, albeit very small, that a package will be returned to me for insufficient postage if someone in the process decides to be a hardass about it. If that happens, I'll need to charge you shipping again and reship it at Package rates.
If you'd like to avoid the (very small) chance of that, you can pay Package rates to begin with. Those would be:
To Canada:
$11
To rest of world:
$15
