Ahaha those are books stacked in front of shelved books, aren't they? When I do that my husband calls it "double parking."

Three deep, actually! We lost a lot of shelf space when we moved into the house from the apartment, since the apartment was a 1700 square foot one room loft apartment and we'd lined all the walls with bookshelves...

They're racked three deep! I think the embarrassing ones are up front, too, lol. (The "godawful 90s romance" shelf.) It's mostly sf&f.
