I know that purple vial holder serves some important scientific purpose, but I like to pretend it's specialized decanting equipment for serious decanters...;)
Ha! Much of my decanting gear is repurposed scientific equipment, actually. The purple rack is a test tube holder, the pipettes are your basic disposables (I'd love an automatic ergonomic pipettor, but they're like $1k, alas) and you can just barely see in the left hand bottom corner that I keep bottles in plastic boxes that used to hold pipette tips to corral them. (My wife is a forensic scientist, so she brings home the pipette tip boxes. They are useful for so many things, especially because you can write on them with Sharpie and then wipe off the Sharpie with an alcohol wipe when you want to change the label.)
One of these days I will clean off Mt. Detritus on the table and actually be able to use the whole thing again, too. Heh.
