Earlier this month, I tallied up all the orders from the Lab, and posted a guess the amount guessing game. The Lupers order will be arriving tomorrow (weather permitting), so I'm declaring the contest closed!

The actual dollar amount I paid to the Lab last year, June to December (Only Lovers Left Alive through Yules): $11,299

Winner: vicki_rae, with a guess of $10,005
Nearly there: highlander_ii, who was actually closer (guessing $11,442), and miella, guessing $12,200, but both of them went over.

Vicki wins choice of whatever extra bottles the Lab sends along with Lupers, and I will give highlander_ii and miella choice of what's left after that as runners up.

Guesses ranged from $1302 to $140,000. (The latter of which, if we ever hit it, would be the point at which Sarah would tell me to find another hobby, heh.) Two people guessed amounts for the whole year that were under what I paid in a single order!

I should do guessing games and giveaways more often; they're fun. Let's say the next giveaway will be whoever gets invoice #500, since we're currently at #456.

Wow. Almost $12,000? And not even a full year of decanting. *boggles* I mean, it makes sense -- the bottles are $20+ apiece, there are multiples of each bottle in the update, and soooo many bottles per update. But still. That's kind of terrifying.

I can see why some decanters have had trouble with the IRS, considering how much money is passing through their hands.
